Friday Night Soccer

Thanks to Dave S and Ian we have a great new place to play soccer on Friday nights from 6-9 pm. The location is at the Perpich School for Art and Education in Golden Valley. I hear the field is in excellent condition and even has lines and nets! Playing the worlds greatest sport with friends and heading to Schuller's Tavern for some post soccer wrap up sounds like a great way to start the weekend. Of course, everyone of all skill levels are welcome to come and play. Bring your soccer skills or enthusiasm and a dark and light colored shirt. Hope to see everyone there!

Red Bulls Win Championship!

The Summer league came to a dramatic end on Saturday with the Red Bulls narrowly beating Envy 2-1 in sudden death. All four teams played great soccer throughout the season. Of course there is much more soccer to be played this summer. We will continue with open soccer at Bryn Mawr as follows:

Mondays 6:30 - 8:30
Wednesdays 6:30 - 8:30
Saturdays 2:00 - 4:00

Hope to see everyone on the pitch!

Updates to Soccer League 2

Due to lower than expected interest in the summer soccer session 2, we are going to just have open soccer on Saturdays between 2 and 4 o'clock at Bryn Mawr. Anyone is welcome to come play.

In order to make up the costs of the permits, we are asking that people pay 5.00 each time they come and play with the group through the beginning of September. If you plan on showing up quite a bit, you can pay a flat rate of 40.00 and not have to worry about paying anything else for the rest of the summer.

Any questions, feel free to email the group at mnglbtsoccer@gmail.com

The League Continues

This last Saturday was a great day for soccer. We couldn't ask for much better weather. It also saw 2 undefeated teams take each other on and one team getting onto the standings with points.

The 2:00 game had The Big P taking on Envy. The Big P came out victorious thus getting on to the standings board with 2.5 points. The 3:00 game had the 2 undefeated teams taking each other on, Blue Revolution vs the Red Bulls. Unfortunately, the Red Bulls only had 4 people showing up and causing a forefit. They did get some players from the Envy and Big P team so they could scrimmage against the Blue Revolution. The final was a tie of 3-3.

Standings-
Blue Revolution 7.5
Red Bulls 5
Big P 2.5
Envy 0

Next week the teams will get their chances at revenge. 2:00 will have the Red Bulls taking on Envy and 3:00 will have Blue Revolution vs the Big P.

After the games have been played, there will be a potluck. Anyone is welcome to attend. The decision on whether or not to hold it based on weather will be made Friday night.

First Game of the Crush Soccer League is Complete

Today was the first game of the Crush Soccer League and boy was it a wet one. Both games were played in rain with the second game being played on a mud pit. Everyone had a lot of fun and should be congratulated for coming out in such lousy conditions.

The first game was against the Blue Revolution and The Big P. Unfortunately, the Big P didn't have enough players and had to forefit the game. Both teams still played with one of the Blue members going over to the Purple team to even things out. The end of the game was 8-4 for the Purple Team.

The second game had team Envy vs the Red Bulls. By this time what little bit of grass was gone and the game was played in pure mud. The final was 8-0 in favor of the Red Bulls.

Team Standings -

Red Bulls - 2.5 pts.
Blue Revolution - 2.5 pts.
The Big P - 0 pts.
Envy - 0 pts.

Next week on Saturday has Blue Revolution against Envy at 2:00 and The Big P vs the Red Bulls at 3:00.
